It goes without saying that the first place to drive visitors to your website is through search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. When designing and redesigning websites for our clients, we ensure that we optimise your site to be found in search engines during the build process.

Moving to first page position on search engines can take time, so if you wanted a quick boost in numbers to your site (For example, you may want to highlight a new product or service) then there is also the option of Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising with Google and Bing. When your PPC campaign is structured correctly, then it can be incredibly successful, however, if you get it wrong, it can prove to be a very costly mistake. We recommend taking advice when compiling a PPC campaign.

Social Media sites such as Facebook and Twitter also now offer paid advertising services. Facebook Ads are incredibly targeted, you can focus on age range, certain geographical locations, and even go as far as only showing your ad to those individuals with your chosen interests. You are much less likely to make a costly mistake with Facebook Ads, as your ad will only show to those individuals that have the credentials that you have stipulated during the set- up of your ad campaign. Twitter are now offering sponsored tweets, and as it is not a targeted campaign (more about mass awareness) we would advise caution before proceeding with those until there is much more ROI information available (the sponsored tweets have only appeared in the last 2 months).

Blogging is not only a great way of getting fresh content onto your site (which search engines love!), it's also a way to demonstrate your expertise, the way you do business, and more about your niche market. Buyers want to be incredibly informed these days before making a purchasing decision. The more often you blog, the higher your site is found on search engines, and you will also be found for more keywords (of course, it's vital to ensure that you are blogging around your keywords). We can add a blog to any website for our new or existing clients.

As you are updating content or adding fresh information to your site, it's a good idea to syndicate this content to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as this will help that content rank quickly in the search engines, and also sends the new relevant information out to your target audience. Be sure to add your social media sites to your website, so that new and existing clients can engage with you in the way that is most convenient for them (The UK population now spend an hour a day on Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn!)

If you're a member of any online forums, take advantage of your forum signature and include your website home page address, firstly, if someone wants to find out more about you from a comment you've made in a forum, they can click through to your website, and secondly, it acts as a back link, which also helps your website to rank well in search engines.
